Hi all. I have been a great admirer of Astrophotography for years and can lose entire days browsing peoples work. I made my first real attempts to photograph the night sky when comet Neowise showed up; I believe it was an inspiration to many.
My first attempts, using a Nikon D5600 and 18-300mm f5.6 lens in my Bortle 5 backyard are pretty much as you would expect, however I have never felt such illation as the moment I extracted my first image of the Orion Nebula from all that horrible light pollution.
I have more recently invested in a mirrorless Canon and a couple of Samyang lenses. All I need now is an end to the Covid crisis so I can start travelling to some less light polluted skies.
It's an honour to be part of this community and I hope that one day I can contribute some images that may be of interest to others.
