Hi everyone - glad to be on board this fab community.
I'm James and I live in Somerset. Very fortunate to be within an hour of the Exmoor Dark Skies Reserve with access to Bortle 3 skies, although I've not been out there as much as I really should. I do most of my imaging from the Quantocks as it's 20 minutes away and still Bortle 4, just horrible light on the horizons.
I got into astrophotography last summer with the arrival of comet Neowise. I read up on how to image it and was pretty pleased with the result. I also managed to see and photograph the Milky Way for the first time in my life.

Neowise
Since then I've done a lot of reading and experimenting and video watching to be able to capture passable images of Deep Sky scenes using just my Sony a6000 and a lens. Usually a 50mm f/1.4, but done some experimenting with a Sony 350mm f/6.3 as well.
The plan is to move to a tracking mount one day, but for the moment I'm very much enjoying the challenge of wider field photography and seeing what detail I can tease out of these images.
Really enjoyed browsing around and seeing some brilliant photos on here.
