Hi everyone,
i want to request critique for my latest image of IC 405.
The thing i want to address: The stars.
I took my telescope to the observatory, and due to transport, some misadjustment in the telescope occured. I also got some issues with either astigmatism (the main mirror is glued), or with some kind of tilt in the draw tube (which i could not yet detect during alignment). Furthermore, there also seemed to be a tilt with the camera sensor (it is my first light with the QHY 268m). So i obtained unround stars in the corners. I tried to fix this rather aggressively. What do you think?
Actually it's very bright on my desk, i'm not sure if i got the curves properly. Will address this tonight.
Here's a raw sketch of my work flow (PI and PS)
now with the RGB and HII data:

PS actions (i'm a newbie):

Here's a raw sketch of my work flow (PI and PS)
- Selecting and stacking the raw data
- remove gradients with DBE
- TGV deniose, MMT denoise
- RGB combination, PCC, color saturation
now with the RGB and HII data:
- HT stretch
- Starnet++
- extract blue channel of RGB, blend it with HII --> Luminance
- another iteration of denoise
- blend Luminance onto RGB
on the RGB:
- create the Stars image from before-after Starnet++
PS actions (i'm a newbie):
- reduce star sizes using different techniques
back in PI:
- inverse stretching of the Stars (now it's linear again, but in 16 bit)
- arcsinh stretch the Stars
- try to fix unround stars using masks and MT
- blend the resulting RGB stars into the starless image
- some fine tuning (curves)
