Hello from the Netherlands

Hello everyone!

After buying my first telescope about 6 years ago (Celestron Powerseeker 80EQ) I've become more and more interested in astrophotography. After my generous neighbour gave me his Nikon D200 I started shooting some targets througout the years, after which I noticed that my whole setup wasn't designed for astrophotography. After many months of research and saving up enough money, I recently bought a new setup: TecnoSky 80/480 ED Triplet, Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro and still with the Nikon D200.

This weekend I had the chance to use the new setup for the first time and I can say that I have never enjoyed the hobby more than I did this weekend. I hope to continue imaging as quickly as possible. I still have a lot to learn about astrophotography and processing, so feel free to comment and constructively criticize my images.

Clear skies!
Simon

Your journey sounds very similar to mine.   I am still very new to astrophotography but  all I think about now is when I can get some telescope time.   A lot of days at work on 3 hours of sleep.   This forum is a very supportive community.  Let us all learn together

Hello and Welcome, Simon!

I think this is a wonderful community; they've been so helpful and supportive of my struggles in the hobby–and although I've had fun, at times it's also been an experience requiring steep learning and deep frustration. The community has been especially understanding and important for me through the difficult times, as well! I'm looking forward to seeing your images.

Clear Skies,
Daniel
