I have seen the impressive KL4040 images posted on this forum and read many of the discussions that they generated. I am considering a KL4040 for DSOs but am confused as to how to integrate it into an automated imaging session given the three channels generated for each exposure.

I presently use:
MaximDL and FocusMax to control a FLI ProLine
TSX to control a Paramount MEII
CCDAP to automate  imaging sessions including acquisition of calibration frames and flats
TSX and  @focus to perform TPoint mapping and to occasionally perform PEC Training  within TSX

Is anyone using a similar setup  with the KL4040 or do you see issues with this approach?

Could anyone comment on the software and strategy that they use with the KL4040?

Is FLIPilot required for imaging just used for setup?

Thanks in advance,
Frank

One suggestion:  You might call Tolga at Tolga Astro.   He has experience with that camera.
