Hi all,
this is Marius from Winterthur, I've got a big balcony last year so I could restart my imaging, which is really nice of course
I was living in the mountains for several years and wehen moved back to the suburbs I was really sad loosing the location in the height without neighbours and not to much light pollution.
Last April I stepped up from DSLR imaging with photo lenses and a travel mount to a CMOS mono set up with a better mount and scope.
I have several interests thats why I think this hobby is so great! One of the things I really like to do is enhancing my equipment with customised parts using cad, 3d printing , custom PCB, programming and so on.
Big aim is to get a complete independent/automated set up with as much DIY as possible/reasonable. And as long is I have no stationary set up to reduce the set up times as much as possible (have been working in production engineering
to have no excuse not setting up the rig.
What I did so far:
- A so called "Flat flap" which is a motorised flat field panel connected over ascom (EL-Film panel, Arduino, custom PCB and mechanics)
- DC distributor to keep things tidy incl. dew strap controller
- custom hand controller for my ZWO EAF controller
- cable clips for management
- fixation for the mini pc
- aids to set up the camera and keep the same angles
What I like to add:
- Field rotator
- Motorized Dome
- Make cable management cleaner
I was always at my own doing this hobby, but know I think it would be nice to connect to people with the same interests
Happy to get in contact with you.
I still have the DSLR set up (mount, MGEN-AG, telesope, lens, accessories etc.) if somebody is interested to get more familiar with this beautiful hobby without spending to much, you can borrow mine for some time
I could also help with the first steps if whished
Clear skies and good seeing to all of you!
Marius
PS: I love this site and the continuous development. Thank you Salvatore!
