I am using the ASI Air Pro to control my 10 micron GM1000 and it works fine. The only thing I haven't managed to do is a meridian flip. Also if you plan to get the most out of your mount, I would think carefully about a mini PC or some other way to perform a pointing model as using the ASI Air pro is tedious and time consuming to do even a 20 point model. To expand on the point, I have the mount on a permanent pier…no dome and just cover up but remove the OTA (looking for a solution for this).

I mount the telescope and perform a polar alignment using AAP which usually gets me within  0"30. Once that's done I'm in the house from then. I have the mount connected to the AAP and the AAP is connected to a WiFi extender. I connect my PC to the mount and the AAP on my iPad. Connect to virtual keypad and perform a 3 star alignment. This usually records the same PA error as the AAP. On each star I perform a go-to and the virtual keypad asks me to centre and confirm. I take a 3 sec exposure on the AAP and then perform a go-to on the same star with the crosshairs turned on. AAP platesolves and centres then I confirm on the virtual keypad. I add as many refinement stars as I want and watch the RMS drop quick.

I then perform a polar alignment on the virtual keypad and centre the one polar alignment star mechanically - with the 10micron it does not have to be polaris. Once done I then clear the alignment and then run a 3 star alignment again and usually up to 20 refinement stars then I'm done. I use a Rasa 8 and use short exposures to beat light pollution from my bortle 7 skies so no more than 30sec exposures…probably overkill on the alignment given the short exposures. I have tried a 10min exposure and there were no star trails.
