=MsoNormalMy focal train consists of: ZWO ASI2600MM Pro, ZWO 7-Position Electronic Filter Wheel for 2", and William Optics RedCat 71. The filter wheel is directly mated to the camera. The telescope is connected to the filter wheel with the proper back-focus spacers. The computer is an ASiair Plus.=MsoNormalI first set up a shooting plan that used all 7 filters, starting with the filter in position 1. After finishing the imaging using the first filter, the wheel did not move to the next filter position—the status indicator, which had been showing “Shooting” went to “Idle.” I then set up another shooting plan that started with the filter in position 2, which was not the current filter position. This time, after starting plan, the wheel still not move, and the status indicator went directly to “idle.”=MsoNormalThe computer sees the filter wheel during the setup.=MsoNormalPlease advise.

Hi Alicja,

weird, I also use the 7x2" EFW from ZWO with a Asi2600mm on an AsiAir plus - and I have no problems with shooting plans and filters not changing correctly

But I did have initially a problem, when I only had 5 filters and had placed them all next to each other - so empty/lighter position were not well spread across the wheel. This lead to a disbalance that lead to the filter feel slip continously until the weight was all at the bottom.

As you do have all 7 filters in place:
- is there a chance of disbalance due to different weight of the individual filters?
- or has the rubber o-ring around the actual wheel slipped off the wheel?

Arny, Thank you responding. Each of the 7 positions have a filter and all filters are from the same brand, so, I would assume weight distributions is balance. WRT rubber o-ring, I have no idea. I did not even noticed when I was installing the filters that there was rubber o-ring. I will have to take the assembly apart. If you can think of anything else, please let me know.

Can you just move it with the ASIAIR in the filter wheel menu? Did you try pressing the calibrate button?

Thank you for responding. I have recalibrated, no change. Trying to move the filter through the wheel menu does not change the filters.

Stick your ear up to the filter wheel, do you hear anything when it's commanded to move?      Check make sure the wheel spins freely (bearings), and that the wheel itself is still able to be driven by the motor.

Thanks Brian, I did just that… listen and nothing! The log file indicated that when the plan calls for next filter, it fail. I did noticed that when I was installing the filters the wheel is difficult to turn.

It should have some resistance to it if you turn it by hand, but it should still feel smooth.

It's very possible that it could be bound up though.  Hopefully you have a warranty

I just got it 3 weeks ago, did not get extra warranty. Not sure at this point what are my return/exchange options. I am trying to get the ZWO tech to help.
