Dear AstroBiners!
I have a question regarding converting mono B&W image to a colored RGB one.
To give you some context, I tried using some remote observations, which provide free mono samples.
I got a few hours of data on various galaxies, and even tho it was mono I was like alright lets do it, at the end of the day its just processing practice.
Details turned out pretty nice, better than I expected. Buuut… The image is still monochrome.
So my question - is there any way to color it? I am not aiming at anything accurate, just for the fun of it. At the end of the day its my first galaxy Im just curious to see how it looks.
I tried photometric color calibration, but seems that the keyword there is calibration. It corrects color, not re-invents it.
I also thought of using some reference image to get color from, but Im not too sure how that could be done.
Again, nothing professional here, just messing around.
Any help would be appreciated
