I have a formal university education in Astronomy. That was a long time ago, working on the modeling of the plasma physics of stellar flares and image restauration of data from a coded mask x-ray camera. I have been out of the field for a long time and as the saying goes "use it or lose it".
Making those mini articles is a lot of fun. Of course the field is very broad and some topics highly specialized. So, it takes some time to pick a nice angle to describe something interesting in my image, do a bit of re-reading of the basic physics and then read up to date publications weeding out all the details and citiations to get the interesting essential findings. After that I need quite some time to make a short (!) article that is not too nerdy
I am now working on such a mini article linking galaxy evolution, war-time astrophysics and quantum chemistry. Gives me a lot of satisfaction to do, but it is also a lot of work.
I looked at your movie. Quite nice and good lenght (< 3 minutes). After I have finished the mini article I would be happy to discuss commenting this movie. Drop me a PM to discuss further if you like.
