Voici ma version de ce magnifique complexe situé dans la constellation du Cocher. Il s’agit d’une mosaique de 2 panneaux, réalisée pendant l’hiver dernier avec mon setup remote au Portugal.

Acquisition en HOO et ajout d’une couche RGB pour la couleur des étoiles.

Plusieurs objets des cataloques classiques sont présents dans le champ, et en particulier : M38 et sa nébuleuse planétaire PK172+001, SH2-234, SH2-237, SH2-236, SH2-229, la nébuleuse des têtards IC410 et la nébuleuse de l’étoile flamboyante IC405.

J’ai utilisé un mixage couleur combinant du HOO traditionnel, réhaussé avec un mixage Foraxx afin de mettre en évidence la complexité de IC405 qui aurait mérité une couche S.

La réduction des étoiles est restée modérée pour ne pas éteindre les 2 amas ouverts M38 et NGC1907

Here is my version of this magnificent complex located in the constellation Auriga. It's a two-panel mosaic, created last winter with my remote setup in Portugal.

Acquisition was in HOO with the addition of an RGB layer for star color.

Several objects from classic catalogs are present in the field, and in particular: M38 and its planetary nebula PK172+001, SH2-234, SH2-237, SH2-236, SH2-229, the Tadpole Nebula IC410, and the Flaming Star Nebula IC405.

I used a color mix combining traditional HOO, enhanced with a Foraxx mix to highlight the complexity of IC405, which would have benefited from an S layer.

Star reduction was kept moderate so as not to extinguish the two open clusters, M38 and NGC1907.
