This is 23 minutes of data shot with the Canon EOS R5 Mark II (7s exposures at ISO 800) and EF 200 f/2.8 L II (at f/4).

Siril 1.4.0-beta4 gave my Canon CR3 frames a strong magenta hue (problem with debayering?) so I exported my frames as 16-bit TIFF files from Lightroom Classic (after turning off the default sharpening, color noise reduction, and chromatic aberration lens correction).

I noticed the color wasn’t consistent from frame to frame (I’m blaming the R5) so I used Siril’s nifty new native python scripting to perform Photometric Color Calibration on each frame individually before registering and stacking.

I also used Siril’s built-in starnet++ integration to create a starless stack for registering and stacking the comet. I hadn’t tried that before and the results were pretty good, requiring only tiny retouching in Photoshop to remove some star trail artifacts that survived the starnet++ process.
