Hello everyone, here’s the latest image we captured from Death Valley Observatories together with Nicolas Paladini during the first moonless nights we’ve had lately. It was taken using two DIY 12” F4 Newtonians imaging simultaneously — the hours stack up very quickly that way!

The goal was to show that IFN clouds are present in practically every part of the sky. The processing was specifically aimed at bringing them out. Even though they are extremely faint and barely appear in most images, here they can actually be distinguished.

Aside from that, the frames turned out very well and there are some beautiful details visible in the galaxies. I definitely recommend viewing the image at 100% and exploring around it.
