After several months of being only sporadically active — mostly through collaborations due to a lack of time — I finally had the chance to process one of my own datasets again, and I hope to be more consistently active from now on.

Orion’s Belt is a region where light, dust and hydrogen seem to play in harmony. In this image, I wanted to preserve that sense of depth: bright stars radiating across the frame, veils of glowing hydrogen, dark clouds absorbing starlight, and the subtle reflection nebulae suspended between them — all parts of the same silent symphony.

(As a side note, this field often sparks a quiet debate in astrophotography circles: some prefer stars with broader, more luminous halos — a softer, almost nostalgic aesthetic — while others favour a more controlled and refined star profile to let nebulae and dust structures emerge more clearly.)

For this rendition, no star reduction was applied. The stars are shown as captured, but with a careful balance in processing — not to overpower the scene, nor to erase their presence — simply to allow the Flame, the Horsehead and the faint dust lanes to breathe without being overshadowed. To me, finesse isn’t about diminishing nature, but about giving space to its quietest details.

A silent orchestration of hydrogen, dust and starlight — familiar, yet always new.
