I went for NGC 1797 after a discussion in the forum “First on AstroBin”. It sounded like an exciting challenge.

It’s tiny (1.2”x0.8”), so I had to use my C9.25 at native focal length of 2,320mm.

The wind was so bad the first night that I lost more than half of my data to bad guiding. I did my best to block the wind:

The second night was a bit better and I managed to get 35 good 5m subs.

4 hours is not enough integration time, but APP pulled it off yet again and gave me really good data to work with (Drizzle 2x).

One thing that strikes me as odd is the asymmetric spiral arms. NGC 1799 is at the same redshift (0.015 / 195mly) and is possibly interacting with NGC 1797. I dare say it does, as the spiral arms are completely messed up.
