Adapters to connect Canon EOS to Skywatcher Evostar 72 ED Apo Refractor with OVL Field Flattener - Forums

Hi guys,

I have recently bought a Skywatcher Evostar 72 ED Apo Refractor and a OVL field flattener. I can connect the field flattener into the refractor like a push-in setup. But I am not able to connect my Canon EOS camera into the field flattener. I have a T ring for Canon EOS M48x0.75, but with it I can't still connect my camera to the field flatterner. So what other adapters do i need to make this work?

Hello,
I've got an Evostar 72ED too and a Canon 450d, as well as the OVL flattener and I don't need any adapter. Have you tried to unscrew the flattener? Tell me if you need more info.

The front barrel of the flattener fits nicely into the telescope. But the back of the flattener does not fit into my Canon EOS M48x0.75 ring. Do I need another kind of T ring? Can you may be send a pic of your assembly and the T ring? I guess I have issue with T ring's size.

The first link concerning article 14608, this product serves for perfect focus, the telescope skywatcher evostar and 72/420 apo I own it too,it takes this adapter for focus and you will have a perfect focus,then add that this telescope is phenomenal for astronomy, I'm proud of it, I'm proud of it.

Hi- Thanks a lot for the insight. So if I have understood well, then the article 14608 connects the field flattener at some side and the another side connects to the Canon EOS camera with article 2416. Right !! And between the field flattener and skywatcher evostar 72/420 apo, we don't need anything, as it is a push-in connection.

exactly, however if you open the links I posted there are also photos of these 2 products, I use them without any problem

Practically article 2416 connects it to the camera, the part you see in the photo is the part that needs to be connected to the camera, once this is done, article 14608 you link it to article 2416, if you look at the photo of article 14608, the right side, the one where there is thread must be linked to article 2416
