Hiya, complete amateur here from New Zealand. I've been lately learning wide field astrophotography but very recently got a bahtinov mask and somewhat it has changed my perspective of the night sky.. used it on my 400mm lense + 2x teleconverter and saw jupiter with some moons, and saturn for the first time. very blurry images mind you, but its changed myl ife. now im really researching something like sky adventurer pro to get more in to deep sky objects. would love to do planetary imaging some day, but respect that that's not such an easy thing for a beginner and also quite scared with the price point of all the gear involved. happy days!

The Sky Adventurer Pro is a rewarding entrance to wide field deepsky imaging, however, with your 400mm lens you will soon wish to autoguide or switch off Earth's rotation (no objection, but at night time, please).
Planetary imaging is easier and quicker than deepsky. A reasonably priced Newtonian would be fine for the moon and planets but you will need a sturdy, accurately tracking mount available hardly under 1000 USD plus a planetary camera (which can serve as autoguider on a Star Adventurer).
Anyway, in this forum you are in best company.

thank you! it would be a while until i can spend the really big bucks on the more accurate mounts but i'll think it over. one option asides from sky adventurer pro is the skyguider with ipolar which might help me get a bit deeper before i have to upgrade, i try not to overthink it and just take the plunge but always coming back to my old on the fence ways
