Hi everyone!

I've had an account for a while now but wasn't active in astro during the time here. Finally felt like it was time to start shooting again now that galaxy season is ending.

I've been shooting the Milky Way and the Orion with an Olympus OMD EM 10 Mark ii on an MSM Rotator (unfortunately not the best setup for astro). However, I did Just get the Redcat 51 and the Sirius EQ-G. I'm also planning to upgrade from the Olympus camera - currently debating between the ASI1600MM or the ASI183MM (it looks like the ASI183MM works better with the Redcat). Would love to get everyone's thoughts on which camera to choose and a potential setup!

Greetings!

I can't comment on cameras (I'm using a Canon mirrorless, with some difficulty, planning to upgrade myself), but I have a RedCat and absolutely love it. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here who will be able to help you! In the meantime, post a few images with your current setup!

Clear Skies,
Daniel

Gain settings people have success with when shooting LRGB
Hi all, I've had a ASI1600 for about a year now and have been largely shooting narrowband so far (due to the weather and full moon making clear nights with no moon hard to come by). I have been using the unity gain settings of 139 and seem to hav...
