Hi.

I am relatively new to astrophotography, but not new to astronomy.
I upgraded my telescope just over a year ago after trying to do some imaging with a Celestron DX102AZ.
I have been posting my growth on my personal FB account but would like to be able to show some higher resolution images so I'm trying this site.

My equipment has mostly been purchased used and includes:
Svbony 503 102ED  (bought new)
Canon T5i - not modified for astrophotography
AVX, ZWO 30F4, ASI 120mini
Svbony and Optolong filters

Greetings, also from Ontario and also rocking an SV-503/102ed. Can’t get the legendary AT102ed here easily so the SV is the next best (or same) thing available. Are you East/West/North or in thé crowded area the rest of us avoid.

More from Ontario, how cool is that!!

I'm in Orangeville and do most of my imaging from my backyard tho, we do have a cottage near Dorset that I enjoy imaging from as well. However, whenever I take my telescope up to the cottage, it rains….regardless of the forecast.

I have also joined the Ontario Astronomy and Astrophotography group on FB.

It was on sale from Svbony, during Amazon days, and I was drunk.  Nevertheless, I really enjoy the telescope and I don't regret the purchase at all.

I started astrophotography with a stock  Celestron DX102AZ. Then found a used AVX locally; later a guide scope; later a ZWO 120mini and started guiding....upgrading the telescope was the right next move.

I travel across Ontario a fair bit and the Celestron is a nice travel telescope that seems to take a beating. It is always in the truck when I'm on the road.

Mississauga here (on the Oakville border).. horrible B8 zone !

Any of you head to darker skies on occasion ? iIf so where do you prefer ? I sometimes can get up to Mulmur (B4 off Airport Road) or Muskoka, (B3 Lake Rosseau)…

We should all start a pool as to when the next clear night will happen !

Would love to join but with all the clouds this year, it’s hard to find a clear night on the first place.

Are there any Canadian groups on Astrobin? What are the groups for, by the way?.. What's the difference from forums? Sorry, I'm very confused. I'd love to be a part of a community here smile
