Hi folks,
I was wondering if I could attach my Tokina 11-16mm w/EF-S mount to my Nikon D5500 using M48x0.75 thread. There are M48 adapter for both the lens and the DSLR but don't know if it would work together (optimal focus plane). Any advice would be very helpful, thanks  smile

The EF(-S) have 44mm flange-focal plane distances. The Nikon F mount (the modern variation of which is used by Nikon DSLRs) has a flange - focal plane distance of 46.5mm.

Unfortunately, this means with the EF-S lens in as far as is possible, you'll be at an absolute  minimum, 2.5mm out of focus (you won't be able to pull the lens close enough to the sensor), and that's before you start adding M48 adaptors in between the lens and the camera body.

Thanks Graeme for you reply. I suspected something difficult to achieve after browsing the web for any solution… You just make it clearer to my mind  ;)
