He,
yesterday i did some shot with R G B filter (Antlia VPro Series) in cassiopea and i did a strange spike on Navi star.
The spike is only with R filter and it's not in G or B.
180 seconds exposure with Tecnosky OWL102 (triplette FPL55) and 1x flattener.
The camera is a 2600mm with OAG. I use this combo from a lot of time and it's the first time i find this problem.
Any suggestion or ideas ?
Thank u.

Hi Michele,

you may have a very unfortunate lying hair on your filter. The diffraction pattern is very much in favor of an elongated object. I hope it is not a scratch.

It looks like some foreign object very close to the focal plane.

I found this in the red filter, now it's clean. Tonight i'll test it. I hope the problem was this !

Only for the red filter ? It's strange.

Hi Michele,

crossing the fingers that you found the bad guy . Let me know if it worked out. It was so much bad luck that you hit the small dust exactly with the light from the only bright star in the field.

Thorsten

If it's semi-transparent it could be be further away though, so yes it could be on the filter.
