Just bought a new S.W. CQ350 mount and the Dec backlash is 0.5mm at the end of the saddle!  Does anyone know how to adjust the Dec backlash on these mounts.  Thanks

Lil bit late but maybe it helps someone. You got the first version or the 2nd one? There is a german PDF https://www.teleskop-express.de/media/pdf/CQ350-Einstellen-Schneckenspiel.pdf

The first version of this mount do not have these 4 screwes and the backlash can not be adjusted from outside. You need to open the whole mont and do the same thing like in the PDF.

Hello Neil, did you fix it by tightening the grub screws as explained in the pdf? I'm asking because I'm facing backlash issues as well.

Hi Bronco, I was able to get a reasonable result by using the attached PDF.  This document covers both the early version and the later one.   However the manufacturing tolerances prohibited a perfect result.
