I can't see much difference either way (SPCC or PCC) and still no blind solver for PI (how long before they catch up with the rest of us). Curiously, I needed to plate solve a drizzled image at 1x scale (Bayer drizzle) even though the data is there in the FITS header. Go figure. Otherwise, I don't see much difference in my current workflow and don't understand what the fuzz is about, in all honesty.
All I know is it sure caused me a lot of problems after the update. As you know Andrea, I’m not a computer/techy kinda guy and I struggle with changes to something that just worked when I used it.
I did a side by side with PCC & SPCC on this image
https://www.astrobin.com/p7vdct/ and could not see the difference between the 2, however it was just with the default setting. Maybe the image is also to small to see any difference too but I don’t know. The video did say that there should be tips and tricks coming in the weeks and months ahead that may give us more guidance on getting better performance from the process.
