Hi!.
I am thinking of buying this telescope. What adapters do you need to attach the ZWO ASI 2600 camera to the telescope?
Is it easy to collimate the telescope and does it hold collimation well?
Thank you.

Hi Raul!

I have an Esilon 160 ED. It came perfecly collimated from the vendor and stayd collimated for almost two years. When I checked it last time, it was off by just a tiny bit. Collimation is not simple, as it is a very fast scope, but not impossible. You just need to be very accurate and patient and do tiny adjustments.

If you are bying a monochrome verison of ASI2600, then you will attach it to a filter wheel with screws direcly on the camera's faceplate. Then the filter wheel can be attached to the Epsilon's focuser with M42 female to M54 female adapter, which should come with your camera, or M42 male to M54 female adapter. You can buy those very cheaply on Amazon etc.

If you your camera is a color variant, then you will not need a filter wheel obviously and you attach the camera to the focuser directly with the same adapters. You will only need to make sure that the backfocus distance is achieved with necessary number of extenders in both cases. For E160 it's 56.2 millimeters. Not sure about the E130, but I am think it will be indicated in the manual.

But to sum up, Epsilons are among the best astrographs the money can buy. Definitely go for it. You will not regret it!

Clea skies!

No tilt problem. One of the many strenths of the Epsilons are the focusers. They are very precise and wobble-free.

As for your choice between RASA and E130, 8" apperture is always bettern than 5". You really need to copare RASA8 and Epsilon 180.

If you are going to use a color camera mainly, then RASA is hard to beat.
