Asair plus power requirements

Hello,

If I plug the Asair plus, a 12 volt 2 amp device, into a portable battery that has a 12 volt 10 amp output, is that OK?   Do I need an adapter to bring the amperage down to 2 amps, or will the ASIAIR just not utilize the extra amperage?

If it will work, then I assume I can plug the mount, camera and guide camera into the asiair.

Is this right?

Thanks!
Jerry

Hi @Jerry Gerber, just make sure the total of amps your devices use remain under the total of your battery/adapter amps delivers, since underpowering your devices could damage them. In your case: just make sure all devices run at 12V and you're good to go.

Hi, this will work perfectly fine, my Powerbank even has 15 Ampere output and 0 issues in the last year. Enjoy your new Asiair

The device draws the current from the battery. The battery will not push the current into the device.  To be more precise, by connecting the ASIAIR to the battery you create an electrical circuit where the ASIAIR (or whatever you're connecting) how much current will flow through the circuit. Therefore as already mentioned by Jeroen you're good to go if the voltage requirement of the device(s) fits to the battery and the battery is able to provide the at least the required current. Don't push the limits there, though.
