Has anyone successfully used a C14" on a Mach 1?
C14" on an AP Mach 1
Celestron lists the EdgeHD C-14 at 46 lbs. But they don't include the dovetail rails, and obviously you will need camera and other accessories on it as well. You can probably forget about Hyperstar at that weight.
AP lists the Mach1 at 65 lbs capacity, but I don't think I would want that much weight on mine.
My Mach1 setup is mobile, so perhaps if you were in an observatory and never unmount the OTA you would be safe.

I have a Mach1 and an 1100. I have a c14 on the 1100 which is permanent. I do not know how that Mach 1 would ever support the wt and moment arm of the c14. Plus, unless you are a really strong person loading and unloading that c14 unbalanced beast is fraught with difficulties.
BTW I tried a 10in f6 Newt on the Mach1. that was a joke–too much wt and moment arm. C jacobson

I tried to tell you of my c14 experience and my Mach 1. Of historical note the original g11 mount was to have carried the c14. that effort gave way when it was obvious the G11 was not up to the task. I have a Mach1, an AP1100. I considered placing the c14 on the Mach 1 but it is clearly to heavy and not something one wants to mount and unmount plus I think guiding for photography would be an issue in any sort of breeze. I therefore mounted my on an AP1100 in an observatory. this was the help of a friend. It's plainly to bulky to a medium build 5ft 9" guy. I tried a 10in f6 newt on the Mach 1. that was a joke–too much leverage. The Mach 1 seems very comfortable with a 25-30 lb load with a 152 F8 refactor.
If you want to try the Mach 1 and c14 there is a UTube video of a guy mounting and unmounting his c14 using a table. You will have to look it up. I have tried his technique and it works but then you have to carry the thing to you vehicle. Good Luck cjacobson
