My HEQ5 pro goto makes a weird electric-like buzz when I turn it on.

Hi everyone! I bought this mount two weeks ago, it works like a charm but when I turn it on it makes a really high pitched low volume buzz that goes away forever as soon as I slew. This happens everytime I use it.
I tried to record it but it is so high pitched that the microphone doesn`t catch it.

I don´t know if it has anything to do with my powersource, I'm using a bresser 42000mAh powerbank.
It doesn't affect function at all, at least that I can notice. Should I be worried or is this normal?.

Thank you, cs

That's not normal, but I guess not neccesarily an issue.  How long does it last for and is it definitely the mount making the noise?

It keeps doing it indefinitely until I slew. It is really faint, If there was some noise around you might not even notice it.
It comes from the mount, no doubt.

if it's a low-pitch humming noise then are the steppers being energized (and not doing anything). One way to see it is that they get bored and make that felt… smile

I have the same  high pitched low volume buzz  as you describe. I  think it is pretty normal for this mount. When it is not buzzing i know something is wrong.

One thing I would highly recommend is the belt mod if you haven't got it.  It makes the mount almost silent smile  It's really easy to do and improves backlash a lot.

Great way of seeing it! I'll try to entertain them a bit more often then.

Okay this calms me A LOT thank you very much, I´ll forget about it then. Btw you got some amazing photos, it is great to see what can be achieved with an HEQ5. Keep it up!

Yes! I´ve already read about this, seems to work great for everyone. But right now I'm photographing at 250 mm without guiding so I don't think I would get any benefit from it right now, apart form the noise. But I'll definitely consider it in the future.

Thank you so much to everyone for your help. It is great to be part of such a helpful and welcoming community.
