It's always interesting having conversations with friends/family about our hobby and I just wondered if you had some to share. A few comments from my brother-in-law over the last couple of days on his visit:
* Him: "The moon is really nice, big and bright tonight and the sky is clear, so you must be able to take some great shots" … Me: "I wish the moon wasn't anywhere in the sky at all"
* Him (after helping me set up the kit last night and having gone to bed before dark): "How did you get on last night taking shots with your telescope?" … Me "I didn't take anything because the clouds came in" Him: "Why was that a problem?"
* Him: "That's a really impressive telescope setup". Me: "It's an entry-level system"
* Me (explaining some stuff about the setting up of the scope) " This is how you balance the telescope really carefully in 3 axes". Him: "But shouldn't you have removed the end cap on the telescope before doing that?"
Damn: he got me.
