SonnyE from various places of ill repute here.
I'm a struggling, budding old guy, retired, photographically inclined who ventured forth into the realm of astro imaging as a progression to my fun and interest of Photography as a pastime.
What a long strange trip it's been!
I don't go unless I go all the way. So I jumped in after a few months of intense study about my interest, and how to get there. Pictures, of Nebula.
Deep Space.
After being run down by a few boulders rolling down the learning curve, and a few other anomalies, I'm finally finding my way into making images from my Pikturds.
Nothing to write home about yet. But I do have fun!

Hello and welcome to a very unique hobby.
I have been doing astrophotography for about 7 years now and I am still learning.

You will start with one kind of gear, get frustrated with it, upgrade, sell the old stuff, do better, all the while learning the mechanics of it.
There are lots of resources, both here and on the web.

All in all a very rewarding pastime. You will meet lots of very interesting people on Astrobin. Don't be shy in commenting on a particular image that you (or may not ) like. I found most everyone is very pleased to get feedback on the work they post on line.

I live in New Brunswick, Canada. That is on the other side of the continent from where you are. Yes it does get cold in winters - Don't use much of the camera cooling in the winter, just don't need it.

Have fun. smile
