Pixinsight process icons disappearing randomly from workspace

Has anyone else had this issue in Pixinsight? And if so do you know what causes it, so I don’t keep doing it.

All my flipping process icons will just disappear randomly. They’re gone, not moved to a different workspace, not hidden off screen. Just gone.

I open up my icon file (attached here if anyone wants to try it) and it only shows a single icon (in this case, Background Neutralization). I’m guessing because it was outside the maximization limit line.

Web searches just keep saying the icons are on a different workspace or out of view (not the case).

I can create a new icon with the same name as an old missing one and it lets me (which means the old one doesn’t exist). And if I “select all icons” and rearrange it only moves the single icon shown.

Is it the end of the world? No, but this is the 3rd time I will have had to rebuild my icon set, and it’s getting old.

Rebuild? Why not save them and reload? Never happened to me though…

If I could just reload the saved icons I wouldn't be posting. That's my whole problem.

The file I shared is my icon set I've been using for months. It's been loading all my process icons perfectly fine, then a couple days ago I opened PI and then loaded icons and nothing shows up except the single background neutralization icon.

I haven’t seen that. When I load a saved project all the process icons are there. Have you tried reinstalling PI?

How about saving all of your Icons as .xpsm to your harddisk? Then you can reload them and you do not have to rebuild them from scatch.

What version of PI are you using? And on what platform? 1.9.4 is buggy.

Did you change your screen or screen resolution/size?

I had this … and the icons were there, but „somewhere“ outside the window. Scrolling and moving the icons back helped.

Another pitfall: If you have other Workspace name, the icons are loaded to a new workspace with the name, from which you saved the icons. So the icons are only loaded into the active workspace, if the workspace name is the same
