Hi folks. I am located south of Tomball and do most of my astro in my back yard. I have also been to the Houston Astronomy Society dark site near Webster and the North Houston Astronomy Clus dark site north of Houston. I’m interested in checking out the Nails Creek Park near Somerville. I have been mainly visual until last year. I am now attempting some DSLR photos with my 100mm APO refractor. Can’t seem to find a cloudless night.

Welcome @Irregulus,  I currently live in Spring.  Are you planning on going to Nails Creek St Park anytime soon?  I've been out there a bunch over the years.  I've also been to the O'Brien Darksite that NHAC uses.

I’ll probably check out Nails this spring. Right now I am using the Houston Astronomical Society dark site near Columbus. I can get there in an hour and 15 minutes. It’s a really nice site and is about Bortle 4. You should check it out. Concrete pads, electricity, rest rooms, etc.

Greetings from Cypress (249/Louetta). Haven't done any imaging in town in quite a while but I have an observatory in Brenham.
Well written

Hi Dustin!

Hopefully it's out side of brenham.   The LP there is getting bad.   I need to check out Nails Creek state park again.

It is about 7 or 8 miles south of Brenham off of 109 I believe is the road.  Even with the Brenham light dome to the NW it has still been fine shooting in that direction *knock on wood*.

Looking to do some parking lot planetary and lunar imaging with this LX50 8inch Meade I was given a few months back.

Cheers!
