Imaging Markarian's Chain at 1000mm

I've shot this once before, for a total of 2 hours, under Bortle 7 with a color camera.

I'd like to try again with a monochrome camera, Bortle 2 and up to 50 hours of exposure time.

Is there anything particular to this galactic cluster, i.e. blowing out the cores when shooting in luminance–that might help me to get a better image?

hi

A few days ago, I finished Markarian chain in LRGB,. so I recommend LUM; many small details will be visible.

Hi Brian,

Very cool image! I’m going to start imaging Markarian’s Chain as soon as the moon gets out of the way, I’ll image it at 1000mm so I’ll frame the largest group, the lower right area of your image.
