X2 solar flare animation recorded testerday january in Eleuthera (The Bahamas) around 1 pm (EST) using a Heliostar 76 H-alpha telescope. I used an ASI585 monochrome camera, and captured the whole disk in batch mode (1000 frames per batch, 0.5 sec exposures, 16 bit, 2200×2160. Unfortunately at a gain setting of 285 even before the flare the frames were a bit overexposed (brightest pixels saturating). I then stacked 20% best of the 1000 frames using Asivideostack, and created slightly sharpened JPGs of the stacked FITS files. I then aligned these images in ImPPG, and created a GIF file in PiPP.
