Entering Multiple Night Data Issues with Filter Drop Down

Support requests are handled via the support form so they can be tracked and resolved properly. This section is for community discussions about the AstroBin platform.

I  manually enter the filter data in the Acquisition section from my Manual Camera. Each time I select the filter drop down menu, the page scrolled back to the top. I then have to scroll back to select the filter.  Entering multiple nights with 3 to 7 filters increases the frequency of dealing with this.

I am seeing the same.

Thanks, sounds like a very annoying bug! Did I understand this correctly?

  1. Edit an image that has filters in the Equipment section of the data form

  2. Go to the Acquisition form

  3. Click on the Filter dropdown menu to select a filter and click it to open it

  4. The page scrolls to the top, losing your position on the page

If I understood correctly, I wasn't able to reproduce this. What browser are you using?

Thanks!

Francesco Meschia avatar
Correct. Steps to replicate:
1 - Edit acquisition info for an image with multiple filters
2 - Insert enough entries to necessitate vertical scrolling
3 - Scroll to the bottom
4 - Click the "add session" button
5 - In the entry for the new session, click on the filter drop-down menu
6 - The page has scrolled to the top, all by itself.

I have done few rather long listings in the past but I always copy the bottom entry to get the new entry, rather than add a session. The end result doesn't seem to differ.

I have also try to add a session at the bottom of one long listing and nothing of that sort happened.

Could it be browser-related? This is Safari on macOS.

I am using the Safari browser on a Mac

Thanks for the video! I can reproduce it too on Safari on MacOS (but not on Chrome). I'll put it on my urgent list.

Aha! It WAS browser-related. Thank you for running the differential test so quickly!

The fix for this issue is currently deploying. It takes about 1.5 hours for the CI pipeline to run. Thanks again for reporting!

It doesn’t seem to be any different for me, though. But I don’t know if the pipeline has run already.

But I don’t know if the pipeline has run already.

It hasn't, sorry. It was supposed to but there was a filing test and then it was too late for me to fix and wait for the release. I'll do it now.

Good timing. I’m getting ready to post an eleven night image.
