Hi all,
I'm thinking if it's a good idea or not to sell my 102 Apo to buy an 200mm Newt.

One of my biggest concerns it's the focuser. My Apo has an R&P focuser from TS and it's a very good focuser.

Does any one have one of the Photon Newts from GSO/TS with the stock focusers ? As i'm going to use it with an QHY268M plus a Filter Wheel i'm not sure about the performence of these focuseres with some wheight on it.

Mine works fine with a 1.6 kg payload and I bet it will easily take more.

You can always upgrade or mod the focuser if need, newts are easy to modify in general. Obviously it's going to be worth it to get twice the resolution and 4x the light gathering power.
