Scopes:
AGOptical 14.5iDK (at HCRO)
Takahashi FSQ-85EDX with 0.73x RD-QB reducer (at HCRO) to be replaced by the new FSQ-80FC once delivered.

Plan to get a small more portable mount (maybe a strainwave mount) for the backyard observatory since I have moved my main setup to HCRO.

I think my next scope will be a Takahashi CCA-250, if they resume production.

Do you have any indication that they will? Amazing scope….
Planewave CDK14 - Remote site, bulk of the imaging
Takahashi TOA-130 - Backyard, general imaging
Takahashi FSQ-106 - Backyard, general imaging
Takahashi FSQ-85 - Portable/travel
Takahashi Mewlon 180 - Moon/planets
Takahashi FOA-60Q - Solar (with Lunt LS60FHa)
Takahashi FS-60CB - Portable/travel
And a mild form of Takitis….

Oh, an old topic is back alive.
I want to ask here, is it about the number of telescopes or the selections of those telescopes? I mean, is it about having like 10 telescopes all are different or almost, or having like several ones as same and few different? So is it about the number [quantity] or the quality?
So if i have for example one PlaneWave 24”, will this be a better choice than my having for example three RC10/12 from good enough brand??? Or having One Takahashi say 130mm than having 4 Skywatcher Esprit 100mm or two 100mm and two 120mm for example?

The practical answer is have the right OTA for the job and that can mean several. The non-practical answer is that you love telescopes and optics and that leads to collecting more of them in more of an unplanned way, just for the fun of it.

So which is which? 😂

I don’t see anyone making value judgements here. You define what is “better” for you. Own what you like, nobody will bat an eye.
I have a single 150PDS Newtonian.
I would love to have more but as I have had only 3 fully clear nights in the 115 of 2026 so far, I’m not sure I could justify the expense

A “better” is a general word, for all, not just not, so is it better for you or me to have 10 scopes rather than 4, is it “BETTER” for me or you to have this brand over other, and so on, it doesn’t always mean only me, it was a general curiosity question, sometimes buying more is to get “better” in something somehow, not only to increase numbers.

Two questions in my mind for you:
Why would you love to have more?
If you have much more clear nights, say up to 250-300 nights per year, how many more you will get?
