I had 4 at the time of voting, I’m currently down to two, but would like to get a 3rd to cover longer focal length work.

ToupTek HOPE D60 - 60mm f/4.66 quintuplet APO. 280mm F/L
Sharpstar 15028HNT - 6” F/2.8 newtonian. 420mm F/L

Next scope I’d like would be an 8” F/6 newt ~ 1200mm F/L or a 10” RC with 0.67 reducer to cover me through galaxy season.

With a scope at longer than 1000mm then you will have a gap between 420mm up to 1000mm or longer, that is why i have 8” f/5 and 6” f/4, so one will give me 1000mm and the other is 600mm, with Paracorr and reducer i can go anywhere between 600mm to 1000mm, or can go wider than 600mm but i have refractors doing that job already, so now i am already covered nicely, i do have 10” RC too, but i can’t decide which reducer to use, 0.8x or 0.75x or 0.67x.

I personally have 6;

80mm Orion Short Tube refractor

82mm Skywatcher Evolux refractor

90mm Meade Maksutov

125mm Meade Maksutov

6 inch Celestron SCT

12 inch Meade SCT

I don’t use all of them for astrophotography, I use the 82mm, 6inch, and the 12inch for that, the 125mm mak I use for visual lunar and planetary. The 90mm Mak I use sometimes for solar viewing, and the 80mm just sits. Had it for so long I hate to part with it, but then I’ve been in this hobby visually since 1965. Had a couple before this lineup with that being a 50mm tasco table top refractor and an 8inch Meade SCT, which stupidly I sold years ago.

I’ve got three OTAs:

SW 150 Espirit
SW Quattro 250
WO Redcat 61

All three are on a SB Paramount MEII mount although I only image with one at a time. I really got tired of switching OTAs.

The setup is on a backyard permanent pier that is operated remotely from a second floor office. I have a custom cover with zippers (for ease of covering-uncovering) and is year round weather-proof.

However, Ohio weather is becoming progressively more cloudy and I’m really considering shipping it all to a remote site in the US.

I have loads..

celestron edgeHD 8

Zwo 80FF

Esprit80

Redcat51

Minicat51

Samyang/rokinon 135 ×2

Skymax1300

Skywatcher 750/150 newt

And a coronado solarscope

Reality is though that i only use 3 of them most of the time. EdgeHD and the redcat/minicat are the main ones.

One Samyang 135mm lens, an Askar SQA55 (264mm focal) and an Askar 120APO (672-840mm focal).

So that’s three in total and mostly covers pretty well the range of focal length I can exploit under my seeing. Maybe something in the 400-500mm range might be useful but I feel like my SQA55 is sharp enough that it’s not mandatory.

I can technically field two set up at once, I have enough components for that, but I haven’t tried yet. Maybe I’ll do now that the weather is starting to give more clear nights again.

Hello, I own three telescopes: a TS Photoline 80 mm f/7, a TS UNC 150/750 mm carbon Newtonian, and a C8 on a NEQ5 GoTo with OnStep, and I will soon have another mount, the Mlastro SAL33

I think my next scope will be a Takahashi CCA-250, if they resume production.
Dan

Do you have any indication that they will? Amazing scope….

Question is probably when, not if. TAK still lists CCA-250 on their website, unlike their equatorial mounts. So there is hope.

Let’s call it 3.5:

  • Edge HD 9.25 + 0.7x reducer + Hyperstar

  • Askar FRA 300

  • Samyang 135 f/2, plus various Canon lenses that I can attach to my astro cameras
