Been on Astrobin about a month after starting to get into astrophotography at the end of last year. The pandemic was a good excuse to revisit my childhood interest in astronomy - its amazing how technology has progressed in the last ….. years! I've started slowly using an unmodded DSLR, kit lenses and a tracker, but I've been pleased with what I've been able to achieve so far. This is definitely a hobby that teaches patience, and the times everything comes together more than make up for the nights when nothing goes right! It's also been fun going back to some of my earlier attempts with new-found image processing skills and seeing what was hiding in there. Loving seeing all the amazing images on here, they're inspiring me to save up for some more serious gear!

Hi Richard,

a warm welcome from Germany. Astrobin is _the_ place for astrophotography, you will find tons of useful stuff and a very helpful community.
It is a good strategy to start with modest gear and learn first things first, then you will progress quickly and new gear comes all along smile
