Hi there,

what USB-traffic settings do you guys (and girls) use?
I've tried some numbers I've found in the internet but still struggle with crashes in APT caused by not loading the images from the cam.

TIA
Mike

Hello,
I've tried different settings but didn't see much of a difference, what really made the difference was the usb connexion.
If i use my 5m usb 3 extension cable with this camera, the mount, filter wheel and auto focuser on a usb hub everything will work, but if I add a guide camera on top of it I can expect crashes or lost images, on both cams. I tried to use a powered usb cable, but the camera wasn't recognized. I used a powered usb hub, it would add some stability but I would still have problems.
The best solution I found, was to plug everything but the QHY294M on a usb3 hub, itself connected to a 5m cable and then to the computer. And to use a separate usb plug, with an extension cable, for the QHY294M.
Its the only way I've found to have everything perfectly stable, and still get about 5 meters between the pc and the mount.

Hope this helps, clear skies.

Hi,

I agree with Pablo, changing USB traffic does not make any differences. The camera needs USB 3 connection for it self to prevent connection failures. It can also be connected to  a powered USB port together with other devices  that comes to a computer via USB-C port as well.

Thanks. I use the cam with the original cable on it's own USB-3-portsmile

But still having trouble.

I don't use this cameras, but I had similar issues with 15 meters of USB extension cables. Solution was an Icron Ranger 4-port hub that connects with my indoor computer by Ethernet cable to a separate Icron reader unit, which in turn connects to the computer by USB-2 cable.

Thanks Bob,

in fact I do not need to extend the existing cable. The original 2m works fine for me. So that shouldn't be the bottle neck.

My crashes were solved with installing the latest QHY drivers and APT version.

Completed several imaging runs since and no crashes.

Try checking the box for High Quality CCD in the settings.  This fixed it for me with the ASI6200MM.
