Using a OSC with LRGBSHO filters

I’m new here and sorry if this was covered before but I couldn’t find it with a search.

I love imaging with my monochrome ASI1600 and separate LRGB SHO filters on my 80mm triplet refractor. I’ve also been using a ZWO asi2600 color camera on my 127mm triplet refractor. My question is can I use separate LRGB SHO filters with the ASI2600 color camera and process everything just like it’s a monochrome camera? I probably should have waited for the monochrome 2600. Should I buy the 2600 mono when it comes out and sell the asi2600mc pro (and sell the 2”Triad Quadband filter too). Opinions welcome.

Sure you can, technically. But it's a waste of imaging time under precious clear skies since you'll be getting only 1/4 to 1/2 of signal depending on the color. OSC cameras are already less effective than mono when it comes to LRGB imaging, and you want to limit it even further.

As for 2600 mono when it comes out, I would sell 1600MM and upgrade to 2600MM since it has no amp glow, is a bit larger in sensor size, produce less noise, more full well, etc.

That make sense, and my 36mm filters will still be compatible with the 2600, thank you.

I wish to have a color camera so i can shoot RGB without filters, and i leave the SHO for mono only.

I beleive the 2600 needs 2" filters. It has a 43.2mm diagonal chip.

It’s 28.3 mm
