Community notes
The Unistellar Odyssey is a compact, fully integrated smart telescope based on a modified Newtonian reflector design with an 85 mm primary mirror and a 320 mm focal length (f/3.76). It features a built-in Sony CMOS sensor with 3.4 megapixels and 1.45 µm pixel size, offering a field of view of 33.6 × 45 arcminutes and a limiting magnitude of 17.2. The optical path is simplified—no secondary mirror—allowing direct image capture on the sensor without collimation. Image processing is handled onboard with real-time stacking, autofocus, and light pollution reduction. The system is mounted on a motorized alt-azimuth GoTo mount and is controlled via a mobile app over Wi-Fi. It’s a closed, portable system optimized for ease of use and deep-sky imaging.
